The hard part of an early flight is not the drive. It is knowing that a car is actually coming, at the hour you said, with room for the cases.
Why pre-book instead of hailing
A street taxi cannot tell you whether it will be outside your building at 04:20 on a Friday. A pre-booked ride can: the address, the hour and the vehicle are fixed the day before, and the fare is agreed at the same time.
The drive itself
Central Tel Aviv to Terminal 3 is 20–25 km and 20–25 minutes in normal traffic. Jaffa sits on the same run. The airport road is fast, but the last kilometre inside the terminal complex is where the minutes go, so the pickup time is set with that in mind.
Coming back
The return leg works the same way, in reverse and with a flight number instead of a curb. Arrivals at Terminal 3, then straight to an address — hotel, home or an office that opens at nine.
Questions
How early should we leave?
The driver will not plan the pickup around an invented margin. Give the check-in hour and the flight hour, and the pickup time is set from the drive and the terminal.
Can you collect from a hotel lobby?
Yes. Send the hotel name and the entrance details; some city-centre hotels have vehicle access from a side street rather than the main door.
