The drive

The usual route from the airport is Route 1 west, then the Ayalon (Route 20) into the city. The Ayalon is Tel Aviv’s bottleneck — at peak it can add a lot to the journey, which is why we do not publish a peak-hour time.

Tel Aviv has two rather different ends as far as a driver is concerned: the hotel strip along the seafront and the port in the west, and the stations and business districts to the east. Give a street address, not just “Tel Aviv”.

Arriving at Ben Gurion

All international flights arrive at Terminal 3. Even if your flight left Israel from Terminal 1, it lands at 3.

Arriving passengers come out into the Greeters Hall on the ground floor of Terminal 3. That is where a pre-arranged driver waits, and where you should look for them.

The official taxi rank is outside Gate 03 on the ground floor and is run by Gett, with self-service kiosks. You cannot call an outside vehicle to the kerb — which is exactly why a pre-booked transfer meets you inside instead.

Flying out — leaving enough time

Allow for the drive, plus check-in and security. Most international departures at Ben Gurion want you there well ahead of the flight, and the security queues are longest in the early morning. Give us your flight time and we will suggest a pickup time that works backwards from it.

What it costs

The city-centre run from Ben Gurion to Tel Aviv is ₪250–300. Tell us your hotel or street and we confirm it in advance.

Quoted prices include VAT and two standard bags. Pay in cash or by card at the end of the ride.

The regulated taxi fare in Israel is metered, set by a Ministry of Transport price-control order (the current one runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027) and includes a ₪5.00 surcharge on rides leaving the airport. When you book a transfer with us in advance, we agree one price with you before the ride instead, so the total is settled before you get in.

When the train is the better answer

Israel Railways runs from the station under Terminal 3 to Tel Aviv in roughly 11 to 20 minutes, stopping at HaHagana, HaShalom, Savidor and Tel Aviv University. It is cheaper than any taxi and, in heavy traffic, often quicker.

• Trains and most buses stop from Friday afternoon until Saturday nightfall. Taxis keep running through Shabbat.
• The train is not the answer for every destination, though. Herzliya has its own station on the coastal line, but Lod and Ramla — the two towns the airport sits between — are not direct stops on the airport line: you change.
